Two years ago I got my mirena because I was nineteen and having my second child. At first things were okay but for the last six months I have had horrible pains all through my sides and back. On top of that I have had a rash from my legs to my feet for the last five months. I just went to the dermotologist and found out that my rash was from having severe infections. I went to the doctor and I have had an infection in my cervics from my mirena. So that explains my sides and back hurting and my rash. But to make matters worse I wanted more children in the future and now chances of infertility are high and the chances of more children in my future are slim to none. So if you plan on having more children you might want to try a different birth control than this one. I am having mine removed in two days and now praying for a miracle that one day I will have another child. This thing is more of a hassle than anything. Good luck to all that have the mirena and all that get it. I hope you luck with it is better than mine.
Also....I have never been a small girl but not real big either and I have had problems gaining and losing...All together I have gain 35 lbs. with this:(
