Stephanie,
I had a mirena insurted about 2 months ago, and have since had it removed, since my spotting went back to heavy bleeding. The doctor also found a mass in my uterus just above the mirena, not on the uterus wall. I have had two biopsies done with nothing definitive, the last biopsy showed the tissue was too decomposed. I go for another hystosonogram tomorrow to see if the mass is still there, if it is the dr. said I will need a D&C before moving onto a hysterectomy, since he wants to do the hsyterectomy laproscopically and also remove my last ovary due to multiple cyst on the ovary. They can not remove the uterus whole this way, it would be grinded as he put it, and not knowing what this mass is, it could spread the bad cells. I'm curious was the lump there prior to the mirena, and what did the lump turn out to be. I had the mirena removed the dr. said I had to wait a month after having it removed before having surgery. Please get back to me and let me know how you made out.
