In the fall of 2016 I started suffering from constant cramps on my left side of my abdomen. It was similar to bad period cramps, but I have an IUD, Merina. So I wasn't used to having periods at all. I was passing strange discharge similar to a mucas that was brownish to blood red in color. Then suddenly when I was driving I had severe cramping, following at trip to the restroom to urinate. I got back in the car with 2 out of three of my children. I drove a few miles and had to pull over because of excruciating pain. I headed back to a restroom and could barely walk and was gagging back vomit from the pain. I took 800mgs of ibuprofen and drove home the hour. We went to the ER and they found a large cyst on my ovary and decided it must have burst. The gave me some pain meds and sent me home with a referral to see my OBGYN. 6 weeks later after being past around from RN practitioner to Doctors then to a surgeon. But I never got to the appointment because I was in such pain I ended up in the ER again.
I ended up with septic infection filling up my whole abdomen and tried to killed me. I ended up getting the ovary and the fallopian tube removed. Then my kidneys shut down for two and a half weeks. I was stuck in the hospital all that time on dialysis. My lady parts were healing up nicely, but I was in hell in the hospital.
I've been home almost 6 weeks and I'm having this terrible hair loss. I'm so depressed and anxious. They are calling it PTSD. I've lost almost 60lbs, I just never got my appetite back. They think it's great since I'm overweight, but I'm not even trying, and I worry about how I'm gonna stop when I want to.
I was concerned that the hair loss could be a hormone issue, but my family Dr checked my blood work and my hormone levels are all normal. I'm 40, so I'm premenopausal. I just wish I knew someone who has gone through something similar.
