Watch Dr. Harness share information on stage 1 breast cancer.
Dr. Harness:
The definition of stage 1 breast cancer is a smaller tumor and the lymph nodes are negative. Now what do I mean by a smaller tumor? There is what is called T1 which is 2 cm in size or smaller, T2 which is up to 5 cm in size, and T3 which is greater than 5 cm in size. So it is typically then that T1 cancers and there is no spread to the lymph nodes.
Again, the chance of being cured of that type of breast cancer is quite high; certainly in excess of 85% if we look at the historical data about survival.
