Well, nerve compression syndrome is a general term. Obviously there’s nerves in the body and whenever there’s something pinching it, whether it be a herniated disc or a bone spur or some other form of arthritis, it’s a general term we use.

Dr. Jeffrey Wang, M.D., is the Chief of Spine Surgery and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurology at the UCLA School of Medicine.
