Spinal Stenosis, What Are The Symptoms? - Dr. Wang (VIDEO)

Dr. Wang:
Spinal stenosis symptoms can come on, but the symptoms themselves depend on the area of the spine. Classically, in the lower back, patients can develop pain that shoots down the legs, otherwise termed as sciatica. They can get some funny feelings of weakness in their legs, numbness and tingling, and typically, when the patients try to walk, they find that these symptoms come on and so they can only walk a certain distance before they have to stop.

Dr. Jeffrey Wang, M.D., is the Chief of Spine Surgery and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Neurology at the UCLA School of Medicine. He specializes in all spine disorders in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar area. His research interests include gene therapy for the treatment of spinal disorders, minimally invasive surgery for spinal disorders, bone growth biological proteins, and biomedical engineering of non-invasive spine surgery using high intensity focused ultrasonic waves.
