After ACL Reconstruction, Can Women Wear High Heels? - Dr. Bates (VIDEO)

Dr. Bates:
There’s thought to be some problems with a subtle incidence of some pain wearing a heel after an ACL reconstruction, but more likely it’s related to the use of a bone graft from the anterior part of the knee called the patellar tendon which takes a bit of that tendon in conjunction with a bone plug from both the tibia and the patella to reconstruct the anterior cruciate ligament. That may be more related to the anterior knee discomfort that you may see after an ACL reconstruction in a female, especially with the use of a high heel.
