Before her father's Alzheimer's diagnosis, Maureen noticed behaviors indicating he might have a problem.
Maureen:
Dad would get very, very frustrated and very angry because he couldn’t remember things, and so if anyone came to the house, he was very possessive of it, you know, "This is mine and this is mine and this is mine," and this behavior was not typical of Dad. So I knew there was something, but you’re not quite sure what it is.
So when I said "relief" finding out what it was, it was at least then I had something to work with, and then when you have something to work with, then you start off doing the research to find out what’s available, what’s going on, all of that kind of thing.
